Scott R. Siler, Founder

Scott Siler is a seasoned political risk analyst, geopolitical strategist, and the founder of Exergy International, a consultancy specializing in political risk advisory and geopolitical consulting services. With over 15 years of experience, Scott has been instrumental in helping senior executives and government officials navigate complex international affairs, geo-economic challenges, and emerging global threats.

In his academic role, Scott serves as an adjunct professor at The George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs, where he teaches Political Risk Analysis within the Security Studies Program. His commitment to education extends to his platform, Political Risk Demystified, aimed at mentoring the next generation of geopolitical risk professionals.

Scott's professional journey includes:

  • Director of Analytics at Enquire AI, where he developed and implemented the firm's data and analytics strategy for political risk consulting.

  • Senior Lead Scientist and Senior Economist at Booz Allen Hamilton’s Strategic Innovation Group and Commercial Analytics practice, where he led analyses for clients such as the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Energy, and the Millennium Challenge Corporation.

  • Federal contractor providing data science and intelligence analysis services focusing on issues like counter-terrorism, cybersecurity, illicit finance, anti-money laundering (AML), narcotics smuggling, border security, and international trade.

Scott holds an M.P.A. from Harvard Kennedy School, an M.B.A. from Georgetown University, a Certificate in International Studies from Johns Hopkins SAIS, and a B.A. from Gettysburg College. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Political Science, a member of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA), and sits on the Education Sub-Committee for the Association of International Risk and Intelligence Professionals (AIRIP).


Dr. Rebecca Murphy, Advisor

Dr. Rebecca Murphy is an advisor to Exergy International, bringing extensive experience at the intersection of geopolitics, global security, and business decision-making. Her work focuses on helping organizations translate political and geopolitical uncertainty into concrete operational and strategic risk.

Dr. Murphy most recently served as Senior Vice President of Geopolitical Analysis at Fiserv, where she advised senior leadership on geopolitical risk, regulatory uncertainty, and cross-border exposure affecting global operations and long-term strategy. Previously, she held senior roles including Vice President of Geopolitical Analysis at First Data Corporation and Vice President of Global Security at JPMorgan Chase & Co., supporting executives navigating political volatility across developed and emerging markets.

In addition to her corporate experience, Dr. Murphy has a long-standing academic career. She is currently an Adjunct Professor of International Relations at the Elliott School of International Affairs and previously served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of International Relations at Columbia University, where she taught courses on international relations and political risk.
